Ice cream shops in Slovakia
Artisan ice cream in Slovakia pulls in two directions at once. Italian-style shops — gelato made on the premises, seasonal fruit sorbets — stand alongside cooked cream ice cream, which is the local tradition; in Bratislava it is roughly an even split. Vegan flavours on a coconut or cashew base are more common here than in Czechia.
Many of the shops are family-run and source locally, and some open for the season only. The list covers only places that genuinely make their own — not kiosks serving soft-serve from a ready-made mix. Each entry says what the shop makes and what sets it apart.
