Ice cream shops in Trnava

Trnava’s ice cream is entirely Italian and entirely inside the historic centre. The gelaterias stand on Hviezdoslavova and Hlavná, a few steps apart, so you can taste your way through them on a single walk around the pedestrian zone. In one of them the production lab is visible behind glass: the recipes come from a sister shop in Rome and the milk from local farms.

The remaining addresses are run by a family continuing an older Trnava ice cream tradition, pairing the counter with a café and cakes, and they stay open late into the evening. Every shop has fruit sorbet beside the milk-based gelato, and the line-up shifts with the season. Expect a queue at the window on hot days — and order your scoop Roman-style, with whipped cream.
