Ice cream shops in South Moravian Region

Outside Brno the region has two faces. In the south are the wine towns — Mikulov, Valtice, Znojmo, Hustopeče — where shops sit in the historic centres and most open for the season only. In the north, around Blansko and Boskovice, family gelaterias stay open all year.

Gelato and fruit sorbets dominate; families either inherited the craft or learned it in Italy. Milk comes from farmers nearby and some of the fruit from the makers' own orchards.
